Community Sparks

Community Sparks is all about our local community. We want everyone to have opportunities to be creative whether that be for health, well-being, social connection or just for art’s sake.

We involve everyone in our Community Sparks programme. Offering workshops and projects that could last for an hour or for several months.

All ideas are welcomed. We support local energies as they emerge. We welcome ideas from the community for creative sessions and projects or maybe you would like to set up a new group.

At the heart of our Community Sparks programme is collaboration and we work with many partners, regional, national and international, but always for the benefit of our local community.

Partnerships with local groups, schools and regional partners such as Newcastle University, NCC and NECA, Blyth Samba, Forget Me Not Residents Association, & The Dialogue Society have co-created wonderful and exciting collaborative projects that encourage local people of all ages and backgrounds to take part.

Headway Arts is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and a registered charity and has become a powerful example of how inclusive creativity can transform lives, strengthen communities and build international cultural connections – proving that the arts can be a force for equality, participation and positive social change.
