Grassroots Music at The Old Church

We are an independent grassroots music venue, this means we offer a developing eclectic live music programme which supports local musicians and community music groups of all ages and genres to play, rehearse, meet regularly, run sessions and gig.

The gothic atmosphere & fabulous acoustics of The Old Church offer an unmatched setting for gigs and festivals and has also featured in 5 music videos!

We work with promoters and industry professionals to bring local and national acts, ‘something a little bit different’ and fringe events.

Some events are free to audiences. Some need to be ticketed in order to pay artists and to raise funds for that unique event. Our policy is to keep prices as low as possible for tickets and also at the bar which offers bottled/ canned ciders, ales and wines.

We have a particular commitment to supporting youth music initiatives and opportunities for emerging artists to develop their skills and industry experience and grow their careers.

We are proud to be a member of the Music Venues Alliance and support the aims of the Music Venues Trust.
