Join Our Board of Trustees
Are you passionate about the power of creativity to change lives? Do you believe everyone should have access to meaningful cultural experiences? Headway Arts is seeking 3 new Trustees to join our Board and help guide our next chapter of inclusive, community-led arts practice.
Based in Blyth, Headway Arts is a pioneering inclusive arts organisation. For over 30 years, we have created ambitious theatre, exhibitions, festivals, and community projects that place inclusion, creativity, and collaboration at their heart. We don’t just make art — we create spaces where people grow in confidence, find their voice, and shape their communities. If you’d like to use your skills to empower our communities we’d love to hear from you.
You would
- Be part of a respected, innovative arts charity
- Help shape inclusive cultural practice regionally, nationally and internationally
- Work alongside a committed and creative board and staff team
- Make a lasting difference through the arts
We would welcome applications from people with:
- Experience in finance, fundraising, HR, law, marketing, or arts leadership
- Knowledge of the charity or cultural sector
- A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Lived experience of disability (particularly welcomed)
But most of all we value passion, integrity and enthusiasm. Together, we can ensure that inclusive arts continue to thrive in Northumberland.
Please contact Fran Castle for a chat either by phone (01670351962) or email (fran@headwayarts.co.uk)
As a Trustee, you will provide strategic oversight and governance; champion inclusion, access, and equality in the arts; support financial sustainability and future development; act as an ambassador for the organisation and ensure the voices of participants remain central to decision-making. This is a voluntary role with meaningful impact.
If you’d like to express your interest in working with our Stars group of artists who are learning disabled and/or neurodiverse, please send your CV, cover email and links to examples of your work to us at hello@headwayarts.co.uk.
