Stars

Stars is our programme of creative workshops for learning disabled and/ or neurodiverse adults.

We work as a team, supporting each other to create original performances. These shows all come from the ideas of the group. In 2025 we performed two shows: Café Bohème and Comet Tales. We performed these at our annual Come on Down and Winter Night festivals.

Our current show “Nest” is being developed for summer 2026 and all we know so far is that it will have animals, birds and some imaginative storytelling!

If you like the Stars workshops you could go on to join our Inclusive Dance Company, our Inclusive Theatre Company or our circus troupe Cirque de Spaghetti, and perform at some of the best festivals and venues in the North East.

We do different things on different days. You can join the Stars on just one day a week, or as many as you like. This is what we do:

Mondays are Dance Days

Dancing makes us feel good! It helps us to be more confident, fit and healthy. A professional dance artist leads these expressive and enjoyable dance and creative movement sessions which explore different ways of making a move.

Tuesdays are for Creative Arts

Explore a galaxy of arts! Including:
• Painting
• Drawing
• Collage
• Printing

Wednesdays are Drama Days

These sessions help us to
• Creatively express ourselves
• Communicate
• Explore new situations
• Try out ideas
• Be inspired
• Build confidence
Drama days are great for beginners and are led by professional drama workers.

Thursdays are for Theatre Skills

For starry eyed people with a passion for being on stage.
• Creative writing
• Actor training
• Performing
• Puppetry
• Set, costume, make-up and more!
